John and Eric, Penny so far has been an
exceptional dog for our family. She loves my boys and my wife and they love
her as well. Being 9 months old, I was pleased to find that she adapted to
the house life pretty well. When she comes in, she settles right down and
cuddles up to the boys. I have trained and bred English Setters for over 12
years and I would say that Penny ranks up at the top of the list for
birdiness. A bird doesn’t pass that she doesn’t notice. She points birds all
day long in the back yard whether they are on the ground, up on a wire, up
on our roof, etc., sometimes at 75 yards away or more. I delayed to write a
testimonial until I had her out for a training session, and now I can say
that I am truly pleased with her instincts. She is naturally pretty much
staunch on her birds, she has a great nose, hits her birds good and high on
both ends and she retrieved her birds for me to boot. With as much point
that she has, I would be willing to bet that she will back (honor) naturally
too. So far she has been pure joy for us, I can’t wait to see her in the
grouse woods in the near future.
Thanks for the opportunity, Bob Owens
Hi
John,
I wanted to give you an update on Jacx. He, as you can see by the picture,
looks great! He is a well muscled dog with tremendous speed, power, and
agility. He instinctively backs (since 3 months of age) and points with a
strong bird drive. Once he is locked in, he will not budge! His pleasing
temperament equals his hunting ability. Jacx is convinced that everyone,
child or adult, is his friend. He learns almost immediately and retains
it! Your breeding program definitely produces intelligent, well-mannered,
hunting partners. At 8 months, he still has a lot to learn; but, with the
intelligence and instincts he demonstrates, it will be a breeze.
Jacx is one of Scooby's pups out of the Scooby/Josie
breeding. - Craig Snider of Minnesota.
JOHN,
JUST A QUICK LINE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN PURCHASING "GUS". WOW!!
WHAT A CRACKER JACK. THESE ARE FAR AND FEW BETWEEN. CAN'T BELIEVE YOU LET
THIS ONE GO. HE IS DOING GREAT AND HAVE SHOT 40 QUAIL OVER HIM ALREADY, SO
YOUR CONCERNS OF HIM SETTING IN THE PEN SHOULD BE ALLEVIATED-------WOULD
RECOMMEND YOU TO OTHERS JUST SEND THEM MY WAY. OH YEAH, I ALMOST FORGOT, LET

John,
Just a quick note to fill you in on Sadie: Sadie was 6 months old when
pheasant season opened here in Montana. On her first hunt she found and
retrieved her first wounded bird out of a thick tangle of cattails and I
knew she was going to be something special, but I never dreamed that at 8
months she would be hunting like a veteran. I don't get out everyday--more
like every other weekend, yet I could see the progress and savy increase
with every outing. Solid on the retrieve, steady on point, not shy about
hitting the heavy cover and as birdy as they come, she is as biddable and
anxious to please as any dog I have ever had. She hunts with passion,
intelligence and style and has heads turning wherever she goes. I have not
heard about her litter mates but if they are anything like Sadie, the
Scooby/Lady match-up is truly a winning combination in every sense of the
word. Don P.S. You are welcome to use any of the pictures. Let me know if
you need more or anything else--I could write for hours.
I purchased a pup from
Classic Pointe Kennels this past spring and I am extremely impressed! "Kady"
is a wonderful addition to my home and has tons of potential. She is
currently back with John Griffiths at Classic Pointe Kennels for some
training and I am very confident I will have an excellent hunting partner
when I get her back. Johns dogs are brilliantly bred and are very smart, I
would recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a good tempered, smart,
driven hunting dog, contact John Griffiths at Classic Pointe Kennels they
will not be disappointed. thanks again John, I couldn't be happier! Roger
